The Infinity Road module
A counting channel: members post 1, 2, 3… in turn, and the server tries to go as far as it can. It is silly, and it is one of the most active channels a server can have.

The channel rules
The idea rests on three rules the bot enforces automatically — which is the whole point, because by hand nobody watches.
- The number must be exactly the next one. Anything else breaks the chain.
- The same person cannot count twice in a row: without that rule, one person would count to a thousand and nothing would be collaborative.
- On an error, the counter restarts from the starting number, and the bot announces the expected number along with the best score.
It is the second rule that keeps the channel alive. It forces you to wait for someone else, so to come back, so to talk.
The record, and what the bot says back
The record is the best score ever reached in that channel. It survives errors — the one figure that never resets — and it is what gives every attempt a stake: with no record a reset is only a loss; with one, it is a score to beat.
Every valid number gets a ✅ reaction from the bot. It is discreet, and it lets you tell at a glance whether the last number was accepted without scrolling back.
On an error, the bot says what the number should have been, recalls the best score, then reposts the starting number a few seconds later to restart the run.
Kuratos offers neither milestones nor rewards on this module: counting is not wired to the economy or to levels. What keeps it alive is the “one turn each” rule, not a reward.
Setting it up
- Create a dedicated channel. Counting does not share space with conversation: the first off-topic message breaks the chain.
- Block message editing in that channel if you can. Editing a number afterwards is the classic exploit.
- Choose the starting number. It is also where the counter returns after every error.
- Announce that an error restarts everything. It is what causes arguments, so the rule had better be known in advance.
- Pin the rules in the channel. A newcomer who breaks the chain unknowingly gets a cold welcome.
What it is actually for
The point is not the counting. It is that the channel creates a reason to come back several times a day, and a collective achievement nobody owns.
On a quiet server it is often the channel that restarts activity, because it asks for minimal participation — typing a number — which even someone who does not dare talk will provide.
Key points
- The same person cannot count twice in a row: that is the rule that makes it collaborative.
- A dedicated channel, or the first off-topic message breaks the chain.
- The record gives the reset a stake; without it, a reset is only a loss.
- The record is the one figure that never resets: it is what provides the stake.
- It is often the channel that revives a quiet server, because it asks so little.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when someone gets it wrong?
The chain breaks and the counter restarts from the starting number. The bot announces the expected number and recalls the best score, which is kept.
Can you count twice in a row?
No, deliberately. Without that rule, one person would go to a thousand and the channel would lose all collective interest.
Can you have several counting channels?
The module is not available on the free plan. Starter allows three channels; Complete and Modular allow an unlimited number.
Put this guide into practice
Kuratos sets up in minutes what this guide describes, and is configured from a web interface rather than through commands.
