The Giveaways module
A giveaway draws a crowd. That is its point, and its problem: it draws accounts that came for the prize and left immediately. Entry conditions exist to sort them.

Setting one up
- State the prize, the duration and the number of winners.
- Choose the channel. A giveaway channel keeps the message from being buried and lets uninterested people mute it.
- Set the entry conditions — the part that decides the quality of the outcome.
- Publish. Members enter with a button; the draw happens on its own at the deadline.
Entry conditions
With no conditions, a giveaway is won by the first account created for the occasion, and you will have given your prize to someone who leaves within the hour.
- Required role: restricts entry to a role. Useful to reward subscribers or boosters.
- Minimum Discord account age, in days: filters out accounts created for the giveaway. It is the account’s age, not seniority on your server.
- Minimum level (Levels module): the safest condition, because a level is earned through activity and cannot be obtained by waiting.
Do not stack conditions. Three strict ones cut entries to the point where the giveaway is pointless. One or two, well chosen, are enough.
Multiple winners and rerolls
Multiple winners draws several people at once, with no duplicates. On a divisible prize that beats a single winner: less disappointment, more entries.
The reroll redraws afterwards. It is the setting used most often, always for the same reason: the winner does not respond. Announce a claim deadline in advance, otherwise the reroll reads as arbitrary.
After the draw
- The winner is announced publicly and mentioned, so they see it.
- Announce the claim deadline in the original message, not after the draw.
- If the prize is a role, check role hierarchy before launching: Kuratos must sit above the role being granted.
- Keep the giveaway message: it is the record of the conditions announced if anyone disputes them.
Key points
- With no conditions, a giveaway is won by an account created for the occasion.
- A minimum level is the safest condition: it is earned, not waited for.
- One or two conditions are enough; three kill participation.
- Multiple winners reduce disappointment and increase entries.
- Announce the claim deadline BEFORE the draw, or the reroll reads as arbitrary.
Frequently asked questions
How do you stop disposable accounts winning?
With a minimum Discord account age or, better, a minimum level: a level is earned through activity on YOUR server and cannot be obtained by waiting a few days.
Can a draw be rerolled?
Yes. It is the most frequent case, when the winner does not respond. Announce the claim deadline in the original message so the reroll is not disputed.
Does the draw still happen if the bot restarts in the meantime?
Yes. The deadline is stored in the database, not in memory: a restart or an update does not skip the draw, which is caught up on the next start.
Put this guide into practice
Kuratos sets up in minutes what this guide describes, and is configured from a web interface rather than through commands.
