The Messages module
The Messages module publishes, under the bot’s identity, messages Discord will not let you compose by hand: formatted embeds, buttons, dropdowns, and posting at a chosen time.

Why go through the bot instead of typing it yourself
Three things are only possible through an application: full embeds (title, border colour, fields, image, footer), buttons and menus, and scheduled posting.
There is a fourth, less visible gain: a message posted by the bot stays editable. Rules, a role panel or a pricing announcement can be corrected in place, without deleting and reposting — so without losing pins, permanent links and read history.
Building an embed
- Pick the destination channel and check the bot can post there.
- Write the title and description. The description takes Discord Markdown: bold, italics, lists, and links as clickable text, which avoids showing a raw URL.
- Choose a border colour. It is the most effective visual cue: keep the same one per message type (announcements, rules, alerts).
- Add an image or thumbnail if they add something. A decorative image weighs the message down on mobile for nothing.
- Preview before sending. The real rendering always differs a little from what you pictured, especially on mobile.
Buttons and menus
Buttons do two things: open an external link, or trigger a bot action. Dropdowns are the right answer past five options — beyond that, a row of buttons becomes unreadable on mobile.
Discord sets the limits: five buttons per row, five rows per message. A panel needing more than twenty-five entries must be split across messages, or use a menu.
A button that does not say what it does goes unclicked. “Read the rules” beats “Here”, and the label matters more than the emoji.
Scheduled posting
Scheduling mostly serves to post at the right moment without being there: a maintenance notice at 8 a.m., an event opening on time, a weekly reminder.
Kuratos has no per-server time zone setting: the time you enter is the time used, and the deadline is stored in universal time. A bot restart in between does not skip the post.
Key points
- Embeds, buttons, menus and scheduling are only possible through the bot.
- A message posted by the bot stays editable: no delete-and-repost.
- One border colour per message type beats one colour per message.
- Past five options, a dropdown reads better than a row of buttons.
- A scheduled post goes out at the time entered; the deadline survives a bot restart.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my embed not being sent?
The bot lacks Embed Links in the target channel, or cannot post there at all. Channel permission overrides win over server-wide settings.
How many buttons can a message hold?
Discord allows five buttons per row and five rows, so twenty-five at most. Beyond that you need several messages or a dropdown.
Can a published message be edited?
Yes, as long as the bot posted it. That is one of the module’s main points: rules can be corrected in place, keeping their pin and their link.
Put this guide into practice
Kuratos sets up in minutes what this guide describes, and is configured from a web interface rather than through commands.
